Bhubaneswar: IIIT Bhubaneswar will host two major international conferences this December, drawing global experts in geoscience, remote sensing, cryptology, and cybersecurity to Odisha. The back-to-back events—InGARSS 2025 and INDOCRYPT 2025—are expected to position the state as a growing centre for advanced research and technological collaboration.
The International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (InGARSS 2025) will take place from 10 to 14 December, with Odisha Governor and IIIT Chancellor Hari Babu Kambhampati scheduled to inaugurate the event on December 11. This year’s edition has witnessed strong participation, receiving over 500 paper submissions. Of these, 241 authors have been selected, with 90 oral presentations and 151 poster presentations planned.
A Student Paper Competition will also be held, featuring 18 finalists shortlisted from 57 submissions. Discussions are expected to span a wide range of urgent global themes, including AI-powered remote sensing, SAR imaging, climate analytics, disaster management, and environmental sustainability.
Immediately after InGARSS, the institute will host INDOCRYPT 2025—one of India’s premier cybersecurity and cryptology conferences—from 15 to 17 December. Organized under the aegis of the Cryptology Research Society of India (CRSI), INDOCRYPT will bring together leading cryptographers, security researchers, technology industry professionals, and policymakers from around the world.
The Valedictory Ceremony will be attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, underscoring the state government’s interest in strengthening digital security and innovation. The conference will feature technical sessions, keynote lectures, tutorials, workshops, and panel discussions on the latest advancements in cryptography, information security, privacy technologies, and emerging digital threats.
Together, the two conferences highlight Odisha’s emergence as a hub for technology, research, and innovation, supported by expanding digital infrastructure and a strategic emphasis on climate resilience and cybersecurity. Their themes—ranging from sustainability and AI-driven sensing to secure digital systems—align with the state’s broader development priorities.
By hosting these global gatherings, IIIT Bhubaneswar reinforces its role as a catalyst for cutting-edge research, while further elevating Odisha’s presence on the international academic and scientific stage.
