Puri: Some of the brightest minds from India’s premier institutions—including the IITs, IIMs, and top public policy and management schools—will converge in Puri this June to support the district administration in managing the iconic Jagannath Rath Yatra 2025.
As part of a unique Public Systems and Infrastructure internship launched by the Puri District Administration, selected students will work on the ground during the Yatra to study and support key aspects of large-scale event management. The internship aims to expose young leaders to the complexities of public systems, particularly in high-density, high-emotion settings like the Rath Yatra.
“Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra is an exercise in scale, devotion, and coordination. It is time India’s brightest minds saw what nation-building looks like in the field,” said Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain.
He added that over a 10–15 day period, interns will be embedded in live projects related to sanitation infrastructure, emergency response systems, seva stall operations, and digital citizen engagement.
The real-time observations and insights from these interns will culminate in actionable reports and recommendations, directly feeding into the planning processes for future public events.
This initiative is being facilitated by Chaaipani, a brand communications agency appointed to oversee brand integration and activation strategies that enhance public facilities and citizen experience at this year’s Yatra.
The 2025 Jagannath Rath Yatra is scheduled to begin on June 27 and conclude on July 5, drawing millions of devotees and tourists from across the globe.
