Bhubaneswar: The police have seized a large quantity of illegally made crackers worth approximately Rs 3 lakh from a factory in Hatsarisha village under Bhograi police station in Balasore district. Sukumar Jana (40), a resident of Padima village in West Bengal, was arrested in connection with the seizure.
According to reports, Jana had set up the factory without the administration’s knowledge, taking advantage of the approaching festive season. A surprise raid was conducted by Bhograi police station IIC Rohit Kumar Bala and Chandaneshwar police station officer Banabihari Satapathy, following a tip-off.
A case has been registered at Bhograi Police Station, and the arrested individual is being questioned.
