Puri: As the State is witnessing polls, the Excise Department conducted raids in several places of Puri and busted the thriving illicit liquor business after receiving a tip-off. They have arrested four persons in this connection.
They raided at Balinoliasahi under Sea Beach police station and arrested a person with 15 litres of illicit distilled (ID) liquor and 100 litres of ID wash.
Raids were also conducted at Pathaganja, Balipatpur, Paiksahi, Maluda under Krusnaprasad police station. Three persons were arrested with 300 bottles of country made liquor, 116 bottles of beer, 252 bottles of IMFL, 10 litres of ID liquor.
Recently, there has been a number of cash and liquor seizures to ensure free and fair conduct of polls in the State.
