Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in Odisha’s coastal regions today.
According to the IMD, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Kendrapara districts are likely to experience heavy rainfall today. Thunderstorms and lightning are also expected in other coastal areas.
The IMD has predicted scattered heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Odisha from October 9 to 11. A low-pressure system is expected to form over the North Bay of Bengal on October 10, which may bring heavy rainfall to Ganjam and Gajapati districts. Inland Odisha is also expected to experience rainfall in various districts.
Residents are advised to stay alert and follow local weather updates for further information. The IMD has warned of possible thunderstorms and lightning in southern and northern Odisha on October 11.
Wednesday saw Bhubaneswar record a maximum rainfall of 40.9 mm. However, another report suggests that the city received heavy rainfall in the afternoon with 50.1 mm recorded.
