IMD Forecasts Early Monsoon In Odisha; Hot & Humid Conditions To Continue This Week

Bhubaneswar: While the conditions are favourbale for the advancement of Southwest Monsoon to south Odisha, hot and humid conditions will continue to prevail in several parts of Odisha during the next four days. Predicting an early monsoon in the state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday said that many places in the state will also experience thunderstorms and rain accompanied by lightning during this period.

Odisha Weather Forecast For Next 7 Days:

(Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 06.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of south Odisha and one or two places over the districts of north Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED): Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speeds reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Malkangiri, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, and Bargarh. Hot and humid weather conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 06.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 07.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur in a few places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speeds reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj. Hot and humid weather conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 07.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 08.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places in south Odisha and one or two places in north coastal Odisha, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places in

Bolangir and Nuapada. Thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Nabarangpur. Hot and humid weather conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak,

Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati .

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 08.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 09.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places in south Odisha and one or two places in north coastal Odisha and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 09.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 10.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places in south Odisha and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two in Bolangir, Nuapada Bargarh, and Jharsuguda. Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speeds reaching 40-50 kmph are likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri. Hot and humid weather conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Day 6 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 10.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 11.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati & dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 7 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 12.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur in a few places over the districts of Odisha.
