IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall, Lightning In Parts Of Odisha During Next 24 Hours

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) today informed that heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, and Nuapada districts.

IMD Bhubaneswar Director, HR Biswas said thunderstorm with lightning is likely over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Nuapada and Kalahandi districts over the next 24 hours.

“The Capital City of Bhubaneswar will witness a cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers. The maximum and minimum temperature is very likely to be around 32°C and 25°C respectively,” added Biswas

The IMD further stated that light to moderate rain/ thundershower has occurred at many places over the districts of South Interior Odisha, at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, and at one or two places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha & North Interior Odisha.

Heavy rainfall occured at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Koraput and Kandhamal.

The highest maximum temperature of 35.9 degrees was recorded at Baripada and the lowest minimum temperature of 19.0 degrees was recorded at Phulbani.
