Bhubaneswar: Over the next three days, most parts of the State are very likely to witness medium to heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning or thunderstorm, as per the bulletin of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), issued on Tuesday afternoon.
In this perspective, the office of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has issued an advisory to all Collectors to remain on alert and take necessary preventives.
“Steps should be taken to widely circulate the message and alert people in vulnerable areas. The situation needs to be closely monitored and immediate action should be taken in case of any eventuality, the advisory of State Emergency Operations Centre stated.
According to the IMD bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur from August 10 (Tuesday) till August 12 (Thursday).
The IMD has issued a Yellow warning for the next three days for the districts:
Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada.
