Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain/thundershowers will continue in the state for three days in several parts of Odisha amid rising day temperatures. The regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain in some districts of coastal, south, and north interior Odisha on Friday under the influence of western disturbances.
According to the weather office, several districts in Odisha are likely to experience rain and thunder, especially due to the increase of vapour in the atmosphere.
On Thursday, the capital city of Bhubaneswar witnessed cloudy skies and afternoon thundershowers. Apart from this, light rain was recorded in Cuttack, Khurda, Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, and some other districts in Odisha.
Moderate rain/thundershower is likely in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, and Jagatsinghpur on Friday while Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri and Cuttack are likely to receive moderate rainfall on Saturday and Sunday.
The day temperatures are likely to be below normal due to rain. However, the weather is likely to change from Tuesday next and the mercury will soar. The daytime temperature in many places of the state is likely to rise by 3°C to 4°C from Wednesday.
