Bhubaneswar: The regional office of the India Meteorological (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has issued a rain and thundershower alert for several places in Odisha from March 15. Several places in Odisha are likely to get relief from the sweltering heat owing to rain and thundershower under the influence of a western disturbance, the weather office forecast in its mid-day bulletin on Monday.
The IMD has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurdha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Malkangiri and Rayagada districts on March 15. On the other hand, dry weather is likely to prevail over the remaining districts.
There will be no major change in the maximum temperature (day temperature) in districts of Odisha during the next four-five days, the IMD bulletin read.
A yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightening has been issued for some places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur and Dhenkanal districts.
