Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning for Odisha, indicating a likelihood of thunderstorms, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall in various districts over the next few days.
For June 10, the regional weather office has issued orange warnings to Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Angul districts where thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (50-60 kmph) are likely to occur in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Angul.
Besides, the IMD has issued a yellow warning to Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Khordha, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Nabarangapur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Malkangiri, Koraput, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Rayagada, Deogarh, and Dhenkanal.
According to the prediction of the regional weather office between June 10 and June 16, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (30-50 kmph) are expected in multiple districts, including Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Angul, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Ganjam, Malkangiri, Koraput, Boudh, Rayagada, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Khordha.
Going by the IMD prediction, heavy rainfall is likely in Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar on June 14-15 and in Cuttack and Nayagarh on June 15-16.
According to IMD, no significant change in maximum temperature is expected over the next 6-7 days.
