Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department issued an orange warning to nine districts in Odisha, predicting moderate thunderstorms, lightning with gusty surface winds reaching 40-50 kmph, and light to moderate rain.
Going by the nowcast warning issued by the IMD at 2:13 PM, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Balangir, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh will be affected by inclement weather conditions within the next two to three hours.
This weather condition may cause minor damage to loose or unsecured structures, banana trees, and standing crops.
Residents are advised to monitor the weather for worsening conditions and be prepared to move to safer places if necessary.
