Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological department on Monday issued a yellow warning for rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning to eight districts of Odisha.
The weather department has issued the alert at 7 am. Going by the prediction eight districts such as Bargarh, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts will experience rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning within the next three hours.
Besides, the Met Department issued an orange warning for rainfall in at least 14 districts in the state.
Meanwhile, a spell of rain accompanied by lightning on Sunday evening brought the much-needed relief for the Odisha people reeling under intense heatwave conditions.
Several parts of north Odisha including Balasore, Bhadrak, and Mayurbhanj witnessed heavy rain during noon hours under the influence of westerlies.
Gruelling temperatures came down in most parts of the state, including the Twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar following the rain.
