Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall triggered by low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal is going to lash Odisha for the next few days. In view of this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Red Warning for five districts of Odisha for the next 24 hours.
As per the warning, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda and Bolangir.
Under its impact, there will be water logging in low lying areas and localized flash
flood in some areas, some damage to kutcha house and informal road, landslides in hilly areas, traffic disruption, water logging in low lying areas and under pass road of urban areas. Besides, some damage to horticulture and standing crops in some areas due to inundation.
Orange Warning has been issued for the next 24 hours for the districts of Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Koraput, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh and Keonjhar, as per which, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts.
The IMD has further issued Yellow Warning for the districts of Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Koraput, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh and Keonjhar, as per which, heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts in the next 24 hours.
