Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted the formation of a cyclonic circulation over the north Andaman Sea and neighbouring areas on September 29.
In its latest bulletin, the weather office has forecast the formation of a low-pressure area over the north Andaman Sea and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal during the subsequent 24 hours under the influence of the cyclonic circulation.
The IMD has issued a yellow warning to several districts of Odisha till Tuesday.
Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput and Rayagada district on Monday, the IMD said.
At the same time, rain is also likely to occur in several parts of the state on Tuesday.
“Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Khurdha, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,” the IMD said.
The alert is valid from Monday morning to Tuesday morning.
