Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued a ‘Yellow’ warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in parts of Odisha. Hot and humid weather conditions are also expected to prevail in several districts over the next few days.
According to the mid-day weather bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, and Ganjam, while dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of Odisha on June 2.
The IMD also predicted a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds (30–40 km/h) likely at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, and Ganjam on June 2.
Additionally, the IMD issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds (30–40 km/h) likely at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Balasore, and Bhadrak on June 3.
A yellow warning for hot and humid weather conditions has also been issued for one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati on June 4.
Similarly, the IMD predicted hot and humid weather conditions to persist in one or two places across the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati on June 5.
