Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain or thundershowers in several parts of Odisha on Sunday.
The rainfall activity is expected to occur due to a trough in westerlies that runs from south Gangetic West Bengal to north coastal Andhra Pradesh at 0.9 km above mean sea level, the IMD stated.
The Met department has forecast light rain or thundershowers at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Mayurbhanj today. Dry weather is expected to prevail in the rest of the districts, according to the IMD bulletin.
The weather department has issued an orange warning for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds in districts such as Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Keonjhar today.
