Bhubaneswar: The cyclonic circulation over North & adjoining Central Bay of Bengal now lies over Gangetic West Bengal & adjoining north Odisha between 1.5 & 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height, according to the latest weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today.
Under the impact of the system light to moderate rain or thundershower has occurred at most places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha and at many places over the rest districts of Odisha with Very heavy rainfall at one place over the district of Deogarh of North Interior Odisha and heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Sundergarh, Rayagada, Bhadrak & Gajapati of Odisha, the IMD’s bulletin said.
According to the IMD, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next five days with heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places.
The IMD has said that while light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh and heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nawarangapur, Malkangiri, Koraput.
The IMD had issued a ‘Yellow Warning’ for the aforementioned districts.
In its forecast for Bhubaneswar and neighbourhood, the sky will generally remain cloudy with one or two spells of rain or thundershower during the next 24 hours while the maximum and minimum temperature is very likely to be around 32°C and 25°C respectively.
