Bhubaneswar: The State is likely to heave a sigh of relief from the gruelling heat as met department has forecasted rain and thunderstorms during next 24 hours.
“Due to the upcoming likely interaction of the trough aloft in middle & upper tropospheric westerlies and hot and humid air from the Bay of Bengal, Odisha is likely to receive rain/thunderstorm and lightning associated with gusty wind,” IMD bulletin stated.
People are advised to take safe shelter during thunderstorm activity to protect from lightning and hailstorms.
Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of North Odisha & at one or two places over the districts of South Odisha on April 7, the IMD stated.
On April 8, light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of north interior Odisha, south Odisha & at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha .
