Bhubaneswar: Moderate rain or thundershower with lightning is likely to affect 17 districts of Odisha with one or two intense spells in some places within the next three hours, according to a nowcast warning issued by the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD’s) Meteorological Centre here at 3.30 PM on Thursday.
Light to Moderate Rain/Thundershower with lightning is likely to affect some parts of districts of Malkangiri, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundergarh, Cuttack, Boudh .Nayagarh, Raygarha, Angul, Baragarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Khordha (Including Bhubaneswar City), and Ganjam during the next three hours, the IMD said.
The districts of Malkangiri, Dhenkanal ,Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundergarh, Cuttack, Boudh and Nayagarh are likely to experience one or two intense spells during the same period. The IMD has issued ‘Orange’ alert for these districts.
The IMD has advised people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strike.
