IMD Predicts Rain With Lightning In 7 Odisha Dists Within 3 Hrs, Issues Yellow Alert

Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain or thundershower with lightning is very likely to affect some parts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, and Gajapati districts within the next three hours, according to a nowcast warning issued by the local office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here at 5.45 PM today. The Met Office has issued a ‘Yellow’ alert for these districts.

The weather agency has advised people to keep watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
