IMD Warning: Heavy To Very Heavy Rainfall Likely In Four Odisha Districts Today

Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in four Odisha districts today, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Going by the IMD’s prediction for today, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda districts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall today. These districts have been issued red warning. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong surface winds are also forecast in these areas.

Besides, an orange alert has been issued for Puri, Khordha, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Cuttack, Koraput, and Nabarangapur, where heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms with gusty winds are anticipated at one or two places today.

Additionally, the districts of Balangir, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, and Malkangiri are under a yellow warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms. The IMD has also cautioned that thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 km/h are likely at isolated places across Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Rayagada today.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures to mitigate the impact of adverse weather conditions.
