Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for several districts in Odisha, forecasting dense fog and cold wave conditions over the next two days.
According to the IMD forecast, dense fog is likely to occur at one or two places over the Sundargarh and Koraput districts on December 12 and 13.
Cold wave conditions are expected to prevail in isolated pockets over Sundargarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal districts on December 12, and over Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Angul districts on December 13.
“Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Koraput. Cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets over the districts of Sundargarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi and Kandhamal,” read the IMD prediction for December 12.
Residents of these districts are advised to take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe during this period. Motorists are advised to drive slowly and carefully, especially during foggy conditions, and follow traffic rules.
