Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with one or two intense or heavy spells of rain is likely to occur in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and some parts of Khordha, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Ganjam and Boudh districts during the next three hours (till 8 PM), warned a Nowcast Warning issued by the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD’s) Bhubaneswar centre at 5 PM.
The IMD has issued a ‘Yellow’ alert for the aforementioned areas.
Similarly, during the same period, light to moderate rain or thundershowers with one or two intense or heavy spells of rain is likely to affect some parts of the districts of Nuapara, Bolangir, Gajapati, Bargarh, and Sonepur.
The IMD has issued an Orange alert for these areas.
The IMD has cautioned that water logging in low lying areas, occasional poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban areas is likely so movement in affected areas should be avoided and arrangements should be put in place for drainage of excess water.
