Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha for the next five days with light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur in most places.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Boudh, Kalahandi, Bolangir, and Nayagarh today.
It may trigger landslides/mudslides in vulnerable hilly areas. There may be temporary water logging in low-lying areas, occasional reduction of visibility causing traffic congestion in urban areas, and some damage to Kutcha roads and vulnerable Kutcha houses.
The IMD has advised keeping arrangements for drainage of excess water.
Heavy rainfall is also very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Nuapada, Khurda, Puri, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Angul, Sonepur, Sambalpur, and Jagatsinghpur.
