Bhubaneswar: Most parts of Odisha are very likely to experience heavy rainfall and thunderstorm with lightning over the next four days, according to the bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued today afternoon.
The IMD has issued a ‘yellow warning’ for a majority of the districts for the next four days.
In view of the IMD’s warning, the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has issued an advisory to all Collectors to remain on alert and take necessary action.
“Steps may be taken to widely circulate the message and alert people in vulnerable areas. The situation to be closely monitored and immediate action should be taken in case of any eventuality,” the advisory of State Emergency Operations Centre said.
The IMD has forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha from August 11 till August 16.
The IMD has issued ‘yellow warning’ for the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, and Boudh.
