Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for several districts in Odisha tomorrow, indicating potential heavy rain and thunderstorms.
According to the IMD prediction, Koraput and Malkangiri districts are expected to experience heavy rain and thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph. This weather pattern is likely to cause disruptions in daily activities, and residents are advised to take necessary precautions.
In addition to Koraput and Malkangiri, 28 other districts have been issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph tomorrow. These districts include Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangapur, and Rayagada.
Residents in the affected districts are advised to stay indoors during storms, avoid traveling unless necessary, and keep an eye on local weather forecasts. By taking necessary precautions, residents can minimize the risks associated with the predicted severe weather conditions.
The IMD has further extended the yellow warning for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms likely to affect various districts across Odisha till September 15.
