Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar on Monday issued an Yellow Warning predicting heavy rainfall in four districts of Odisha till tomorrow.
As per the warning, heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, and Nuapada till 0830 Hrs IST of August 16.
The IMD has also stated that squally surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is very likely over north and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal and along & off Odisha coast during next 24 hours and gradually decrease thereafter.
Sea condition is likely to be rough to very rough over north and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal and along & off Odisha coast next 24 hours and gradually improve thereafter. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea along & off Odisha coast, north adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the depression over North Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood moved west-northwestwards and lay centered at 0830 hours IST of August 15 over Northwest Chhattisgarh and adjoining East Madhya Pradesh about 20 km southwest of Pendra Road (Chhattisgarh), 170 km east of Mandla (Madhya Pradesh) and 220 km east of Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh).
It is very likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and weaken gradually during the next 12 hours.
