Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40-60 kmph) in five districts in the next three hours.
According to nowcast warning issued by IMD at 12:20 pm, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi districts will experience moderate thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds within next three hours.
Besides, a yellow warning has been issued for Balangir, Puri, Khordha (including Bhubaneswar), Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Angul, Jajpur, and Deogarh districts, forcasting light rain or thunderstorms with lightning at one or two places within the next three hours.
Residents are advised to monitor weather updates and move to safer places if conditions worsen to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
