Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Monday arrested Aditya Prasad Senapati, Revenue Inspector of Podamari Revenue Circle and Titu Sethi, Assistant Revenue Inspector of the same RI Circle under Sanakhemundi Tahasil along with Manoranjan Sahu (private person) for demanding and accepting Rs.5,000 bribe from a complainant for conversion of his agricultural land to homestead land in two mutation cases and for issuance of RoR (Land Patta) in favour of complainant.
As per instruction of RI Senapati and ARI Sethi, private person Manoranjan Sahu was trapped by the team of Vigilance officials while accepting Rs.5,000 bribe from the complaint, briefed the release issued by the Vigilance department.
The entire bribe amount Rs.5,000 has been recovered from them and seized.
Following the trap, the Vigilance department launched simultaneous searches at the residential houses of Senapati and Sahu and their office from the DA angle.
Berhampur Vigilance registered a case under Section 7 of the Indian Penal Code (Amendment) Act, 2018. Investigation is underway against accused Senapati and Sahu and Manoranjan Sahu (private person).
