**Bhubaneswar:** The State Government lays a lot of emphasis on harnessing the rich resources of Odisha and we can harness the immense potential of these resources only when we are able to create authentic brands of products and services, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said.
Addressing the first edition of Sambad’s Corporate Excellence Awards – 2018, Naveen said, the Government schemes for MSMEs and export promotion aim to facilitate the creation of National brands by various means including encouraging participation in trade fairs.
Odisha’s quantum jump of 114 per cent in the export growth during 2016-17 over the previous years, speaks volumes about our progress of policies. The rich tapestry of our handlooms and handicrafts also presents innumerable opportunities to create global brands, he added.
“Brand of Odisha is truly the Pride of India, as the catchphase of this event proposes. The men (entrepreneurs) and their hard work behind these brands are reflective of the dream to excel and make it a reality.”
These home-grown brands are also reflective of the assertion of the 21st century Odisha, where people are ready to plunge into the business realm and create their own identity at a National and global level, the Chief Minister said.
Corporate houses of Odisha working in different sectors were awarded on the occasion. These included, IMFA, Mayfair, Falcon and Ruchi, among others.
Industrialists and entrepreneurs who have succeeded in their ventures and carved a niche at National and international levels are icons of Odisha. “The event ‘Brands of Odisha, Pride of Inda’, is an effort to recognise their efforts and achievements. We expect the younger generation to get inspired by these success stories,” Editor of Sambad Soumya Ranjan Patnaik said.
