Ganjam: In a tragic incident, an infant girl drowned in a canal near her house in Rambapalli village under Bhanjnagar police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Thursday morning.
According to reports, Sudesna Naik, wife of Vishnu Naik of Kardabadi village under Sorda police limits in the district, brought her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter to her father’s house in Mujagad. On Thursday morning, when everyone was at home, the minor slipped away and went to the small canal behind the house. As the girl was missing for a long period, her family launched a search for her.
Eventually, the infant’s body was found on the bank of the canal. The family members rushed her to Bhanjnagar Medical Centre where the doctor declared her ‘brought dead’.
