Bhubaneswar: An 11-month-old boy, who was kidnapped from Patia in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, was rescued from the Mancheswar area of the city on Wednesday morning.

According to reports, four unidentified miscreants snatched the baby from his father’s arms on Tuesday afternoon while the latter was shopping at the Patia Station Bazar and fled from the scene in a car. Locals tried to chase the car but failed.

Following this, the baby’s father filed a complaint with the Patia police and a hectic search began to rescue the baby. The police monitored all CCTV footage in the area to trace the kidnappers and the baby.

On Thursday morning, the police rescued the baby and nabbed the kidnappers in the Mancheswar area. While the infant was returned to his parents, the kidnappers have been detained for interrogation.

Police said that the kidnapping was a fallout of a family dispute.
