Bhubaneswar: Infocity police on Wednesday night arrested five persons who were allegedly planning to commit robbery in the city.
Police have seized two iron swords, one knife, two iron rods, a packet of chilli powder, and liquor from their possession.
The accused persons have been identified as Romi Naik (24), Kartika Behera alias Dasia alias Kasia (31), Jitendra Samal (20), Sk Islam alias Kadam (29), and K Sibaji (26). All the accused persons are residents of Infocity Police limits.
According to an official press release, acting on a tip-off a team of the Infocity Police conducted a raid near Patia playground gate on the roadside of Patia station road and nabbed the accused persons who were planning to commit robbery.
One of the accused Sk Islam alias Kadam has 48 criminal cases against his name in different police stations, while the other accused persons have 17 cases against their names.
