Baripada: In a bid to promote tribal culture and awareness, the Simlipal Tiger Reserve has launched an Adivasi (Tribal) Information Center. Forest and Environment Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia and BJP National General Secretary, Sunil Bansal inaugurated the centre.
This initiative aims to educate tourists about the lifestyle, art, culture, and traditions of tribal communities like Lodha, Khadia and Mankidia residing in Simlipal.
The centre showcases the daily lives, occupations, and customs of these tribes, providing valuable insights into their unique cultural heritage. By exploring this centre, tourists, especially children, can gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of Odisha’s rich tribal diversity.
On this occasion, Khuntia said, “Tourists visiting Simlipal can learn about the tribal communities through interactive displays and exhibits at the information centre. These tribes reside within Simlipal and the centre will provide insights into their occupations, customs, and way of life. Tourists, along with their children, can gain valuable knowledge about these communities and their unique cultural heritage.”
