Bhubaneswar: Ink was thrown at Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Sarat Pattanayak at Congress Bhwan on Friday.

According to sources, OPCC President was busy working at his chamber in Congress Bhawan when a group of youths barged into his chamber and hurled a bottle of ink at him before fleeing. A few senior Congress leaders rushed to Congress Bhawan and held a discussion with Pattanayak after the incident. However, the reason behind hurling inks at the OPCC President is not clear.

On the other hand, it is said that a few dissatisfied Congress workers threw ink at the OPCC President over irregularities in the distribution of tickets in General Elections to Assembly and Lok sabha seats.

Talking to the mediapersons after the incident, Pattanayak said, “I have been active in politics since my student life.  I have seen ups and downs in politics. That’s what happens in politics. There is no need to get frightened. We are going to raise a few issues against the government. That’s why some miscreants came and hurled ink at me. God bless them.”

“No matter what happens, we will continue to fight and protest against the NEET paper leak issue”, maintained Pattanayak.

“Earlier also eggs were hurled at me and stones were pelted at me. I am least bothered about them. Those who are jealous of the growth of Congress in Odisha have done it. We will continue to fight and protest against NEET paper leak. Congress is staging protests across the country as lakhs of students are suffering due to the NEET paper leak. We were about to hold a protest today against NEET paper leak issue when a few miscreants hurled ink at me”, Pattnayak added.
