Bhubaneswar: Under the guidance of the Chief Secretary of Odisha, the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) organised a special screening of the Odia film ‘Pade Akasha’ at the Convention Centre, Loka Seva Bhawan.
The film carries a powerful message regarding the empowerment and resilience of persons with disabilities.
Produced by Tarang Cine Productions and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sushant Mani, ‘Pade Akasha’ is a biographical drama based on the life of Dr. Sruti Mohapatra, a recipient of the Nari Shakti Puraskar and the founder of the NGO ‘Swabhiman’. The movie depicts her extraordinary journey, showcasing how determination and courage can overcome physical challenges to achieve greatness.
On this occasion, R. Santhagopalan, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the SSEPD Department, felicitated Dr. Sruti Mohapatra and Debidutta Mohanty, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Tarang Cine Productions.
The screening was attended by senior officials from various departments of the State Secretariat. The audience lauded the film for its emotional depth and its potential to sensitise society toward the capabilities of specially-abled individuals.
The event was smoothly coordinated by Jayashree Tripathy (Financial Advisor-cum-Special Secretary), Deepak Routray (Additional Secretary), Bhaskar Rait, and Sonia Behera on behalf of the Department.
