Kendrapara: The district police have busted an inter-state robbery gang with the arrest of 18 members and seizure of a huge quantity of ornaments and firearms.
The police said that a number of rare coins, 145 gram gold and 300 gram silver, Rs 90,000 cash, two pistols, five live ammunition, swords, two bikes and a car were seized.
On April 2, two persons were nabbed by locals of Kakatpur village in Badiha panchayat in Tantiapal when they were committing a robbery. After questioning the duo, police came to know about the gang and carried out searches.
In the process of investigation over the last 20 days, other members of the gang were arrested and the stolen items recovered. The accused were booked under relevant Sections of the IPC and remanded in judicial custody.
