Internet Services Restored In Bhadrak

Bhubaneswar: The internet suspension in Bhadrak district was lifted on Friday evening, allowing residents to access online services once again. The shutdown, which began on Thursday at 6 am, was initially set for 24 hours but was extended by an additional 12 hours due to ongoing tensions.

The suspension affected several areas, including Bhadrak Municipality, Bhadrak Block, Dhamnagar Notified Area Council (NAC), Dhamnagar Block, and Tihidi Block. Authorities had imposed the shutdown following a violent clash that resulted in the death of a youth named Santosh Parida, who had been attacked by alleged cattle smugglers in the Thihidi police station area.

To maintain peace and order, the district administration deployed 27 platoons of police forces in sensitive areas, with Bhadrak Superintendent of Police Manoj Rout personally overseeing the situation. While internet services have been restored, authorities are closely monitoring social media platforms to prevent the spread of objectionable or provocative content.

“Strict action will be taken against anyone posting objectionable or provocative content,” said Rout. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to maintaining law and order in the district. With normalcy gradually returning, the district administration is working to ensure peace and stability in the affected areas.
