Int’l Women’s Day: Sundargarh Women Cops Donate Blood, Anti-Romeo Squad Launched

 Sundargarh: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the women cops of the police district here were not only felicitated by the Collector but also they donated blood to save lives and also the district police launched an Anti-Romeo Squad.

Sundargarh Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan felicitated the women cops who have been instrumental in maintaining law and order in the district. Kalyan remarked that they have broken the stereotype, strengthened themselves, their families and society as a whole.

To mark the occasion, Sundargarh Police organized a blood donation camp at Police Hospital here in the Reserve Line where a large number of women cops donated blood to save precious lives in society.

Another important development on the special occasion was that Sundargarh police, under the leadership of woman SP Sagarika Nath, launched an Anti-Romeo Squad. Nath remarked, “They will be instrumental in safeguarding women and girls travelling to colleges and schools and other crowded areas.” “We urge women to report harassment and #SpeakOut,” the SP tweeted on her official Twitter handle today.
