Dhenkanal: A drone belonging to the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) crash landed in Indipur village under Sadar Police Station limits of Odisha’s Dhenkanal district at around 8.00 pm on Wednesday. The drone, resembling a plane, was recovered from near the Rengali canal of the village.
Local children and youngsters spotted the drone first and informed their elders. Initially, the villagers were frightened on seeing the drone lying near the canal and informed the Dhenkanal Sadar Police about the drone.
The drone is 7 feet long and 4 feet wide and has two cameras mounted on it.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the drone belonged to IOCL and was engaged in pipeline survey work. As per reports, the drone hit an electricity transmission tower and dropped beside the Rengali canal in Indipur village.
