Berhampur: Police have busted an IPL betting racket with the arrest of five persons from Gosaninuagaon police limits of Berhampur city.
Police have seized Rs 4,56,200 cash, two mobile phones, one car, and gold ornaments weighing 203.96 gm from their possession during the raid.
The accused persons have been identified as Dipu Nayak, Kitu Rout, Ashwini Kumar Patra, Gopinath Maharana of Golanthra and Prasant Kumar Sahoo of Kabisuryanagar.
The accused were involved in online betting on the ongoing IPL cricket matches through a variety of mobile apps and websites, police said.
They were operating the betting business through bookies both inside and outside the State, police added.
