Puri: In a unique gesture, the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy was worshipped at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri on Sunday.
Members of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team, who won the trophy last year, brought it to the revered shrine and offered prayers to Lord Jagannath.
A large crowd gathered near Singha Dwar to catch a glimpse of the coveted trophy, and the temple employees were thrilled to see it. The KKR team members are optimistic about retaining the title in the upcoming season, which begins next month.
