Bhubaneswar: The IPS Association (Odisha Branch) has condoled the death of Surendra Nath Swain, retired IG of Police.
A condolence meeting chaired by Odisha DG Abhay held at the State Police Headquarters, Cuttack today in virtual mode expressed shock on Swain’s sad demise, said a press release issued by the IPS Association this evening.
The members present in the meeting cherished the memories of Swain and offered floral tribute to the departed soul. A two-minute silent prayer was observed by the members.
The association members also expressed their heartfelt grief and solace to the family members of the former police officer.
A native of Sisua village under Rajkanika block in Kendrapara district, Swain served in various capacities in State Police till his retirement in June 2004.
Among others, CMD, OPH & WC M Akhaya, ADGP Hdqrs Lalit Das, ADGP (L&O) Y K Jethwa, Director Intelligence R K Sharma, IGP (Modernization) Sanjay Singh, IGP (Provisioning) Yatindra Koyal, IGP (Personnel) S Praveen Kumar were present in the meeting.
Secretary of the Association Saumendra Priyadarshi conducted the programme.
