Bhubaneswar: A team of IRS and IAS officers from Odisha have joined a noble initiative of providing free online UPSC coaching to underprivileged and tribal students of the State amid the coronavirus-induced lockdown.
The program has been launched by Utkal Pragati Foundation, brain child of IRS officer Ashis Panda, his brother Debashis Panda, who is an Assistant Commandant in BSF, and few other intellectuals.
Ashis along with IRS officers Abhishek Tripathy, Ranjan Agrawal, Shatarupa Mishra, Susanta Mishra and IAS officer Lingraj Panda are among the few teachers who have expressed their interest in teaching the students free of cost.
Civil service aspirants can register for the program at https://www.utkalpragati.org/events, crack the online screening test to begin. Only 50 students from SC, ST category and 50 General category students with 20 from EWS Category will be selected from the program.
The Scholarship Test for SC and ST category students is to be held at 11 AM tomorrow (May 25, 2020) and for General category students at 11 AM on June 5, 2020.
Ashis and the other officers will be taking online classes through Zoom Application and YouTube videos. Doubt clearing class will be held through Zoom. Classes will be conducted two days a week.
Students will be promoted to ask as many questions as possible in the class to develop analytical ability in them. Heavy home task will be given for the rest five days.
