Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted isolated heavy rainfall over parts of Odisha for next three days (August 26,27,28) under the influence of a low pressure area over Bangladesh and neighbourhood.
“A low pressure Area formed over south Bangladesh & neighbourhood. Under the influence of the upper air cyclonic circulation over south Bangladesh & neighbourhood, a low-pressure area has formed over the same region today, the 25th August 2024,” IMD bulletin stated.
It is likely to become more marked and move west-north-westwards across Gangetic West Bengal, north Odisha and Jharkhand during next two days, it added.
In the last 24 hours, Khaira of Balasore, Banki of Cuttack and Ghasipura of Keonjhar recorded maximum rainfall of 97 mm,95 mm, 88.3 mm respectively.
