Bhubaneswar: An ITI student died after falling from the hostel roof at Jagada under Jhirpani police station in Rourkela on Sunday.
Atulyan Jojo (22) of Hatibari Bansajora village in Sundergarh district was pursuing his ITI course in fitter trade.
His friends and inmates said that he was not present in the hostel since Saturday evening. Friends also searched him in the night for dinner but failed to trace him.
They found his body lying on the ground in a pool of blood. Fellow students immediately informed the hostel superintendent and local police.
Police reached the spot and started an investigation by questioning other inmates of the hostel.
Police also informed his family members who rushed to the spot in the morning.
The reason behind his death has remained unclear. Police suspect it is a case of accident.
They said that Atulyan was completely calm and mentally fit. His friends also echoed similar voice before police.
The body has been sent to IGH for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway, police said.
