Jharsuguda: All major parties have thrown their star campaigners into the fray in order to secure the votes for the Brajrajnagar Assembly seat in Jharsuguda district. There are also some actors-turned-politicians campaigning for major political parties.
Bhojpuri actor Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, is campaigning for BJP candidate Radharani Panda. With the help of Yadav, the party reportedly aims to woo the Bihari community that resides in Brajrajnagar Municipality.
On the other hand, the BJD has fielded its star campaigners popular Odia actors Arindam Roy and Akash Das Nayak. Ahead of the election, Brajrajnagar is witnessing a contest between celebrities to grab the attention of the voters.
The by-election to the Brajrajnagar Assembly constituency is to be held on May 31. The seat had fallen vacant on December 31, 2021, due to the demise of Kishore Kumar Mohanty.
