Bhubaneswar: Keeping in view of the interest shown by local residents to voluntarily sell their land for Sri Jagannath Temple’s security, the State government today increased the deadline for such sale by another seven days to December 9, said an official press release issued here today.
Following Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s appeal for a security ring for Sri Jagannath Temple several residents of areas adjacent to the temple have voluntarily accepted the Resettlement and Rehabilitation policy of the government and have provided land for the security ring.
As per available reports, by December 2, sale deeds have been prepared for 80 out of 106 plots marked for direct sale.
Notably, as of now, residents have voluntarily provided 75% of the land.
