Bhubaneswar: Two dacoits broke into a house and looted valuables by assaulting family members in Hasina village, falling under Kujang police station limits of Jagatsinghpur district, on Wednesday night.
As per reports, the dacoits forcefully entered the house of one Debi Prasad Mishra by threatening him using a sword. During the time of dacoity, only Mishra and his daughter-in-law were present in the house.
The dacoits first assaulted Mishra using the sword and locked him inside a room. After which, they stole valuables, including jewellery and cash.
They also took away the gold ornaments worn by Mishra’s daughter-in-law.
After completion of dacoity, the dacoits evaded the crime scene by stealing the hard disk of the CCTV camera unit.
Mishra has filed a formal complaint in connection with the dacoity at the Kujang police station.
Police officials have started an investigation into the matter. Further details on the incident are awaited.
